Rams RB Jackson out Sunday

Nov 19, 2008 - 3:45 PM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson will miss Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.

It will mark the third consecutive contest the Jackson will be sidelined due to a thigh injury. He has missed three of the past four games and played only sparingly in a 34-13 loss to Arizona on November 2.

Tackle Orlando Pace also will miss Sunday's game with a sprained MCL.

Rams coach Jim Haslett has said repeatedly in recent weeks that if his star running back is unable to practice, he will not play.

St. Louis has struggled mightily without Jackson, dropping its last four games to fall to 2-8. The Rams have been pummeled in their last three games, getting outscored 116-32.

Jackson has 525 rushing yards, 259 receiving yards and four touchdowns this season. He injured his quadriceps in a 34-14 win over Dallas on October 19.

Antonio Pittman started in last weekend's 35-16 loss to San Francisco, rushing for 96 yards on 14 carries. He likely will get the start against Chicago.
