Browns TE Winslow has sprained shoulder

Nov 19, 2008 - 4:49 PM BEREA, Ohio (Ticker) -- Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow has a sprained right shoulder that could put his availability in doubt for Sunday's game for Sunday's game vs. the Houston Texans.

Winslow underwent an MRI exam Tuesday after injuring the shoulder in the previous night's 29-27 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Head coach Romeo Crennel said Winslow is among eight players who will not practice Wednesday and was non-committal about the tight end's chances of playing Sunday.

"Whether he'll be able to play depends on his strength and movement, his range of motion," Crennel said. "If he has that, he'll be able to go. We'll see how that comes along during the week.

Winslow sustained the injury while making a 16-yard grab during the Browns' winning drive. Phil Dawson kicked a career-long 56-yard field goal with 1:39 remaining to give Cleveland the victory.

"I don't think it's worse (than last year's left shoulder sprain)," Crennel said. "It's sore. He has to work the soreness out. The main issue is his strength and range of motion."

Winslow caught three passes for 40 yards Monday. He is Cleveland's second-leading receiver this season with 39 catches for 402 yards and three touchdowns.
