Cowboys RB Jones to miss remainder of season
Nov 20, 2008 - 8:15 PM IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- The Dallas Cowboys announced Thursday that rookie running back Felix Jones will undergo toe surgery and miss the remainder of the season.Jones injured the big toe on his left foot while rehabilitating his hamstring injury, which forced him to miss the last four games.
It appeared that Jones was nearing a return when he returned to practice Wednesday. But the evaluations determined that Jones' best course of action would be to undergo a surgical procedure to repair a torn ligament in the toe.
Jones has been sidelined since suffering the hamstring injury in the second half at Arizona on October 12.
Prior to that injury, Jones had rushed for 266 yards in three touchdowns in five games. He also averaged 27 yards on kickoff returns, including one for a touchdown.
No one has shouted yet.
