Eagles RB Westbrook to play

Nov 23, 2008 - 5:16 PM BALTIMORE (Ticker) - Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook, who missed three consecutive practices last week, is expected to start Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.

Westbrook has been plagued by knee, ankle and rib injuries, forcing him to miss two games and limiting his effectiveness the past three weeks.

On Wednesday, both Westbrook and Eagles coach Andy Reid conceded the star running back is not close to 100 percent.

Westbrook suffered two fractured ribs in the Eagles' 23-17 loss to Washington on October 5, forcing him to miss the following week's game at San Francisco. He also sat out Week Four with an ankle injury suffered the previous week.

Following the team's bye week, Westbrook returned with a flourish, rushing for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-14 win over Atlanta on October 26. He also had six receptions for 42 yards.

Since then, however, Westbrook has accumulated 147 rushing yards in three games, failing to score in either one.

For the season, Westbrook had 123 carries for 508 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 32 catches and a pair of scores.
