Eagles QB McNabb benched
Nov 23, 2008 - 8:06 PM BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was benched in the second half of Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.Following an abysmal first half in which he committed three turnovers, McNabb was replaced by Kevin Kolb at the start of the third quarter.
McNabb completed just 8-of-19 passes for 59 yards and was intercepted twice as the Eagles faced a 10-7 halftime deficit. The five-time Pro Bowler also lost a fumble in the opening 30 minutes.
McNabb also was dreadful in last weekend's 13-13 tie against the Cincinnati Bengals. He tied a career high with three interceptions and lost a fumble in the NFL's first tie since the 2002 season.
McNabb was heavily criticized after the game for not being aware of the NFL rule that contests can end in a tie after one overtime period.
