PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook's chances of playing in Thursday's game against the Arizona Cardinals have improved.
Westbrook participated fully in practice Wednesday after missing the previous two sessions and was listed as questionable.
The news was not so good for cornerback Asante Samuel and running back Correll Buckhalter, who both missed their third consecutive practice and are doubtful for Thursday's contest.
Westbrook, who has been battling knee and ankle injuries for most of the season, has swelling on the knee. Injuries have forced Westbrook to miss two games and limited his effectiveness the past four weeks.
After rushing for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons on October 26, Westbrook has managed 186 yards and zero TDs in the past four games.
Samuel suffered a neck stinger in Sunday's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. In his first season with Philadelphia after signing a lucrative deal in the offseason, Samuel leads the team with three interceptions.
Buckhalter, who suffered an MCL sprain Sunday, has just 11 carries in the past five games.
