Report: Bears CB Vasher out indefinitely

Nov 26, 2008 - 10:54 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bears will apparently be without cornerback Nathan Vasher in their quest to win the NFC South Division.

According to a report Wednesday from the Chicago Sun-Times, Vasher will be out indefinitely with a fractured right hand and a re-injured thumb.

Vasher, who missed three games in October with a thumb injury, sustained the injury in the third quarter of Sunday's 27-3 victory over the St. Louis Rams.

Bears coach Lovie Smith refused to say that Vasher would be placed on injured reserve and miss the rest of the season, according to the report.

The injury comes at a bad time for the 6-5 Bears, who are tied with the Minnesota Vikings at the top of the division. Chicago visits the Vikings this Sunday in a critical matchup.

Vasher, who did not participate in practice Wednesday, has 21 tackles and one interception this season. Corey Graham will start in his place.
