Redskins RB Portis questionable vs. Giants

Nov 29, 2008 - 7:36 AM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis was sidelined from practice on Friday, but coach Jim Zorn said that the league's leading rusher is "50/50" to participate in Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

"There's a chance he'll be there," Zorn told the Washington Post after Friday's practice at Redskins Park, "but he's still questionable."

Portis, who has 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns, is dealing with a variety of injuries including sore ribs, a injured hip and a sprained knee.

In other news, left tackle Chris Samuels, middle linebacker London Fletcher and defensive linemen Kedric Golston and Andre Carter did not practice on Friday and will be game-time decisions.

The Redskins (7-4) trail the Giants (10-1) by three games for first place in the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys (8-4) are currently in second place in the division.
