Patriots sign LB Colvin
Dec 3, 2008 - 3:41 PM FOXBOROUGH, Massachusetts (Ticker) - The New England Patriots are bringing back a familiar face to fortify their faltering defense. The Patriots on Wednesday signed linebacker Rosevelt Colvin, who had spent five seasons with the club before his release in February 2008.
Terms of the deal were not announced.
Colvin, 31, registered 26 1/2 sacks in five seasons with New England, although his first and last seasons were cut short by injury.
In 2007, Colvin had four sacks and an interception in 11 games until a foot injury ended his season.
The Patriots have been hurting at linebacker since a forearm injury to Adalius Thomas caused him to miss the last three games.
New England lost two of those contests - both at home - and surrendered 67 points.
No one has shouted yet.
