Bills QB Edwards misses practice with groin injury

Dec 3, 2008 - 10:12 PM ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) -- Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards sat out practice Wednesday with a groin injury, putting his availability in question for Sunday's game vs. the Miami Dolphins in Toronto.

It's still pretty sore, but it's better than it was," Bills coach Dick Jauron said. "It's certainly better than it was after the game and better than it was yesterday, so I would say there's progress.

"We'll go day-to-day and then it'll probably stretch right up to the game."

If Edwards is unable to go, J.P. Losman will get the start. Losman replaced Edwards at halftime of last weekend's 10-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, finishing 11-of-17 for 93 yards.

"It's exciting," said Losman of the possibility of starting. "From my standpoint, I know when I got to play last week, it was fun. ... Right now, it's exciting knowing that it's a possibility and we'll find out."

Losman began the 2007 season as a starter before he was injured in Week Three and replaced by Edwards. He appeared in eight games, throwing four touchdown passes and six interceptions.

"It's been tough on him," Bills wide receiver Lee Evans said. "I think he's handled it with a lot of class and I think he's done it the right way and now he's getting his opportunity."
