Jaguars place FB Jones on injured reserve
Dec 10, 2008 - 6:51 PM JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday placed fullback Greg Jones on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season.Jones missed last week's 23-10 loss at Chicago, ending his streak of 28 consecutive games played for the Jaguars.
The fifth-year player started seven of Jacksonville's first 12 games this season, recording 13 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown. He had two carries for 13 yards.
The Jaguars also signed defensive tackle Attiyah Ellison off the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad. The three-year player has spent time with Carolina, Houston, Baltimore and the 49ers.
Ellison originally was selected by Carolina in the third round of the 2005 draft.
In other moves, the Jaguars activated cornerback Isiah Gardner from the team's practice squad and signed running back Keon Lattimore to the practice team.
