49ers WR Battle out for season
Dec 13, 2008 - 7:58 PM SANTA CLARA, California (Ticker) -- San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Arnaz Battle will miss the remainder of the season with a foot injury, the team announced Saturday.The move to place Battle on injured reserve was expected as he appeared in just one game since October 26. The veteran returned four punts for 17 yards in last week's win over the New York Jets.
Battle caught 24 passes for 318 yards in nine games with this season.
The Niners on Saturday also signed running back Thomas Clayton from the practice squad.
Clayton could see time Sunday against Miami if Frank Gore is unable to play due to an ankle injury. Gore will be a game-time decision.
