Cowboys RB Barber back in the lineup vs. Giants

Dec 15, 2008 - 1:05 AM IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber is back in the starting lineup for Sunday night's pivotal NFC East matchup against the New York Giants.

Barber practiced on a limited basis this week due to a dislocated right pinkie toe and was a game-time decision. He sat out last week's 20-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the injury, which caused owner Jerry Jones to question the Pro Bowl running back's toughness.

Barber has also been battling a bruised calf. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, he tested both injuries during pregame warmups Sunday and was declared good to go.

Rookie Tashard Choice made his first career start last week and rushed for 88 yards on 23 carries against the league's top-rated defense. He also had five receptions for 78 yards. He will return to his role as Barber's backup against the Giants.

The 25-year-old Barber is Dallas' leading rusher with 870 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He has also caught a career-high 47 passes for 366 yards and a pair of scores.
