Saints owner Benson recovering from cancer surgery
Dec 17, 2008 - 3:50 PM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson underwent surgery last week to remove a cancerous mass on his left kidney.A team spokesman said Wednesday the 81-year-old Benson had the procedure on December 10. Benson was released from the hospital Sunday, and is resting home.
Benson, who is expected to make a full recovery, will miss Sunday's game at Detroit, but is expected to return to work next week.
