Panthers LB Beason misses practice due to illness
Dec 18, 2008 - 10:00 PM CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Carolina Panthers linebacker Jon Beason missed Thursday's practice due to an undisclosed illness.Beason, 23, has recorded a team-leading 122 tackles and three interceptions this season.
The Panthers (11-3) will need Beason in the lineup Sunday night when they visit the New York Giants (11-3) in a game that will determine home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.
Panthers defensive tackle Gary Gibson was a limited participant in Thursday's workout due to a hand injury.
