Del Rio: Jaguars RB Jones-Drew is 'OK'

Dec 19, 2008 - 2:44 PM JACKSONVILLE, Florida (Ticker) - The Jacksonville Jaguars got a bit of good news in what has been miserable season.

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who suffered a left leg injury and was helped off the field late in Thursday's 31-24 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, is not seriously hurt.

"It feels like he got a little bruise, and that he'll be OK," Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio said after the game. "He's walking around in there right now, so that was really good news. He took a shot there late."

Jones-Drew was injured when he was tackled after making a 10-yard reception on the third-to-last play of the game.

The NFL leader among running backs in catches (61) and receiving yards (555), Jones-Drew rushed 20 times for 91 yards and caught seven passes for 71 yards on Thursday.

One of the league's biggest disappointments this season, the Jaguars (5-10) conclude the campaign on December 28 at Baltimore.
