Eagles hurting at wide receiver

Dec 19, 2008 - 7:26 PM PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook did not practice Friday but is listed as probable for Sunday's key division clash against the Washington Redskins.

The news was not as good for wide receivers Kevin Curtis (calf) and Hank Baskett (knee), who each sat out practice for a third straight day Friday. Curtis is doubtful and Baskett has been ruled out of Sunday's game.

Curtis had missed the bulk of practice last week with a concussion but had four receptions for 45 yards, including a touchdown catch, in Monday night's 30-10 win over Cleveland Browns.

Baskett had three catches for 15 yards against Cleveland. He is the team's second-leading wide receiver with 33 receptions - one more than Curtis.

Westbrook rushed for just 53 yards on 16 carries against the Browns as Philadelphia (8-5-1) posted its third straight win to remain one-half game behind the second-place Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said Westbrook was held out of practice Friday more as a precautionary measure.

"He practiced the last couple of days and then we went inside on the turf, so I kept him out," Reid said.

In the Eagles' 23-17 home loss to Washington (7-7) in Week Five, Westbrook was limited to 33 yards on 12 carries, although he was hampered by leg and rib injuries.
