Lions WR Johnson has ankle or knee bruise

Dec 22, 2008 - 1:37 AM DETROIT (Ticker) -- Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson has "an ankle or knee bruise," according to head coach Rod Marinelli.

Johnson sat out the last quarter and a half of Sunday's 42-7 loss to New Orleans with what was originally called a coach's decision. Marinelli revealed the injury in his postgame press conference.

Johnson will be re-evaluated on Monday.

The lone bright spot on the NFL's first 0-15 team, Johnson caught four passes for 64 yards. He had a 52-yard touchdown negated by an illegal formation penalty.

The No. 2 overall pick in 2007, Johnson has 69 catches for 1,229 yards and 10 touchdowns.
