NFL moves Chargers-Broncos to prime time
Dec 22, 2008 - 2:32 AM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The showdown to decide the AFC West Division title has been moved to prime time. The NFL on Sunday announced that next weekend's matchup between the San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos has been moved from 4:15 to 8:15 p.m. (EST) as part of the league's flexible schedule to put the best matchup on its Sunday night telecast.
It seemed a most unlikely encounter a month ago after a third straight defeat dropped San Diego to 4-8 and three games behind Denver in the AFC West.
However, the Chargers have reeled off three straight victories and can snare the division title by with a home win over the Broncos (8-7), who have lost two straight.
No one has shouted yet.
