Panthers DT Lewis doubtful for Saints
Dec 26, 2008 - 7:27 PM CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- After missing practice for the third straight day Friday, Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Damione Lewis is listed as doubtful for Sunday's critical game at New Orleans.Lewis suffered a shoulder injury in last week's 34-28 overtime loss to the New York Giants that cost the Panthers (11-4) home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.
Carolina could be without both of its starting defensive tackles as Maake Kemoeatu practiced only on a limited basis Friday due to an ankle injury and is listed as questionable.
However, Kemoeatu said earlier this week that the injury is improving and expects to play in New Orleans.
The Panthers need a win to clinch the NFC South title and a first-round bye in the playoffs.
No one has shouted yet.
