Jets coach Mangini focused on Dolphins, not future

Dec 27, 2008 - 1:56 AM FLORHAM PARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Eric Mangini is focused on the team's next foe - and not his own job security.

On Friday, the New York Jets coach was asked if he's worried about his own fate after the team dropped three of its last four games.

"We really don't (talk about it)," Mangini said of his conversations with general manager Mike Tannenbaum.

"That wouldn't be something that we would talk about. We'll assess things after the season. We just focus on what's ahead of us. That's what he believes. That's what I believe in and that's what the organization believes in. That wouldn't deviate regardless of any situation."

The task as hand for the Jets (9-6) is a home game against the Miami Dolphins (10-5).

New York needs to defeat its AFC East rival and have either the New England Patriots (10-5) or Baltimore Ravens (10-5) lose this weekend to gain a berth into postseason.

The Patriots face the Buffalo Bills (7-8) while the Ravens play the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-10).
