Cowboys QB Romo feeling better

Dec 27, 2008 - 6:57 AM IRVING, Texas (Ticker) -- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo seems to have gotten over his illness, according to coach Wade Phillips.

"I think he's feeling all right now," Phillips said of Romo on Friday. "He was maybe a little weak yesterday, but he's doing a lot better today. I think he'll be ready to go."

The two-time Pro Bowler, who was sent home on Wednesday with flu-like symptoms, returned to practice a day later singing a much different tune.

"I'm feeling great. I feel like a hundred bucks," Romo said on Thursday.

Romo's status does not seem to be in question for Sunday's huge game against the Philadelphia Eagles (8-6-1). If the Cowboys (9-6) win, they clinch a wild-card berth.

Romo missed three games earlier this season with a broken pinkie finger on his right hand and has been limited in recent weeks by a nagging back injury.

The 28-year-old Romo has passed for 3,265 yards and 26 touchdowns in 12 games this season. However, he also has been prone to turnovers, throwing 13 interceptions and losing five fumbles.
