Patriots DE Seymour out vs. Bills

Dec 28, 2008 - 12:59 AM BOSTON (Ticker) -- New England Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour has been ruled out of Sunday's key AFC East tilt with the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury, according to a report Saturday in the Boston Globe.

The five-time Pro Bowler injured his lower back in the second quarter of last Sunday's 47-7 win over the Cardinals and did not finish the game.

Seymour has a team-high eight sacks and 63 tackles for New England (10-5), which will need to defeat Buffalo (7-8) and have the New York Jets (9-6) topple the Miami Dolphins (10-5) to secure the AFC East title.
