Giants favorite to win Super Bowl

Dec 30, 2008 - 6:04 PM LAS VEGAS (Ticker) -- If the oddsmakers are correct, the New York Giants will be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy for a second straight season.

The Giants have been tabbed as a 2-1 favorite to repeat as Super Bowl champions by most Las Vegas sports books.

In the AFC, the top-seeded Tennessee Titans are the favorites to reach Super Bowl XLIII with odds of 2-1. The Titans are 4-1 to win their first Super Bowl title.

The top-seeded Giants, who won three road playoff games last season en route to their third title, will have the comfort of home this time around. They will face either the Atlanta Falcons, Arizona Cardinals or Philadelphia Eagles in the the divisional round.

Arizona, which won its first division title since 1975, is the biggest long shot to win the Super Bowl at odds of 40-1.

Before the season, the two teams who opened with the longest odds to win the Super Bowl were the Miami Dolphins (250-1) and Falcons (200-1). The Falcons, who secured an NFC wild card berth, are now 15-1 while the AFC East champion Dolphins are 30-1.
