Niners fire two more coaches
Dec 31, 2008 - 11:21 PM SANTA CLARA, California (Ticker) -- San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary continued to purge his coaching staff on Wednesday.One day after firing offensive coordinator Mike Martz, Singletary dismissed quarterbacks/assistant head coach Ted Tollner and running backs coach Tony Nathan.
Singletary was named the team's head coach on Sunday. He went 5-4 after replacing the fired Mike Nolan at midseason.
The 49ers' offense ranked 23rd in the NFL in total yardage (311.1 ypg) and 22nd in scoring (21.2 ppg).
