Bills' Ko Simpson arrested

Jan 2, 2009 - 9:50 PM ROCK HILL, South Carolina (Ticker) -- Buffalo Bills safety Ko Simpson was arrested early Thursday morning on a charge of hindering a police investigation.

According to a Rock Hill police report, Simpson was arrested outside a Rock Hill bar just after 2 a.m. on New Year's Day.

Simpson, 25, was "verbally abusive" to officers attempting to assist the bar's security personnel in clearing out a large crowd from the area.

According to the police report, Simpson was a passenger in a car being driven by 28-year-old Frederick Hart, who was speeding through the parking lot at Celebrations bar before being stopped by security officers.

Hart, who refused to leave the parking lot, was arrested for disorderly conduct. Simpson began yelling at police despite being asked to leave.

"I'm Ko Simpson with the Buffalo Bills," he said, according to the police report. "I am worth millions."

Simpson, who recently completed his third year with the Bills, made $445,000 this past season. He was released on a $470 bond.

Simpson's agent, Jason Chayut, did not respond to phone calls placed by PA SportsTicker.

A 2006 fourth-round draft selection and Rock Hill native, Simpson appeared in all 16 games for Buffalo this season, recording 66 tackles.
