Manning hits playoff milestone
Jan 4, 2009 - 1:55 AM SAN DIEGO (Ticker) - Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning set another milestone in Saturday's AFC wild card contest against the San Diego Chargers.Manning became the fifth quarterback in history to throw for 4,000 yards in the playoffs, joining an elite group that includes Joe Montana, Brett Favre, John Elway and Dan Marino.
Entering the game needing 102 yards to reach the plateau, Manning reached the mark in the first quarter.
Manning became the quickest of the bunch to throw for 4,000 yards, accomplishing the feat in his 15th postseason contest. Marino previously held the mark of 18 games.
