Broncos LB Williams needs surgery
Jan 5, 2009 - 7:02 PM DENVER (Ticker) -- Denver Broncos linebacker D.J. Williams will need shoulder surgery this offseason, according to a report Monday by the Denver Post.Williams was leading the league in tackles through seven games before suffering a partially torn medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
However, that injury is not the problem, according to the Post. Williams injured his shoulder later in the season and appeared in just four more games.
Williams, who signed a five-year, $32 million extension in the offseason, recorded 93 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in 11 games.
