Cardinals WR Boldin has strained hamstring

Jan 5, 2009 - 7:29 PM GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed Monday that Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin has a strained left hamstring.

The Cardinals won't know the extent of the injury until later in the week, Whisenhunt said.

Boldin injured his left hamstring near the end of a 71-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter of Saturday's 30-24 wild card playoff win over Atlanta and did not return.

Boldin had missed the last two regular-season games for Arizona with a shoulder injury and Whisenhunt acknowledged that the injury likely caused by rust.

Despite missing two games earlier in the season with a concussion and facial fractures, Boldin finished second on the team with 89 catches for 1,038 yards and 11 touchdowns.
