Titans DT Haynesworth, DE Vanden Bosch practice
Jan 7, 2009 - 10:40 PM NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Tennessee Titans will be getting back some reinforcements for their defense.Pro Bowl defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch both practiced Wednesday in preparation for Saturday's divisional round playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Haynesworth had missed the final two games of the regular season after suffering an MCL sprain in his left knee in the waning minutes of Tennessee's 13-12 loss to the Houston Texans on December 14.
Tennessee (13-3) has been off two weeks after securing the No. 1 overall seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The leader of a fearsome defense that has allowed the second-fewest points in the NFL, the 6-6, 320-pound Haynesworth recorded 8 1/2 sacks this season.
With 8 1/2 sacks and his ability to stuff the run, Haynesworth is among the favorites for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Vanden Bosch, who had been bothered by a groin injury that caused him to sit out the final three games of the season. He had 4 1/2 sacks, well short of the 12 he recorded in 2007.
"Both players are very good against the run and then of course the two of them together can pressure the passer," Titans coach Jeff Fisher said.
No one has shouted yet.
