Broncos CB Bailey to undergo surgery
Jan 8, 2009 - 6:16 PM DENVER (Ticker) -- Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey will undergo surgery on Thursday to repair torn ligaments in his left elbow, according to the Rocky Mountain News. The anticipated recovery time is three to four months and Bailey is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
An eight-time Pro Bowl selection, Bailey's season was derailed when he tore his groin in Week 7 against New England, causing him to miss the next nine games.
The 10-year veteran returned for the Week 16 loss to Buffalo, but suffered the elbow injury in a season-ending loss to San Diego the following week. He finished with 44 tackles and one interception in nine games.
Prior to this season, the ultra-durable Bailey had missed just three games.
