Cardinals WR Boldin to test injury Saturday
Jan 8, 2009 - 9:52 PM GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl wide receiver Anquan Boldin will not test his injured hamstring until just before Saturday's NFC divisional playoff game against the Carolina Panthers.Boldin missed a third straight day of practice due to the injury, which he suffered near the end of a 71-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter of last week's 30-24 wild card playoff win over Atlanta.
The three-time Pro Bowler did light rehabilitation work on Thursday.
"We're just trying to be smart about the entire situation and just see how it feels on Saturday," Boldin said.
"It's a fine line that you have between doing enough and doing too much," he said. "If I played any other position, I'd be fine. But being a receiver you've got to run every play and it's definitely tough."
Boldin missed Arizona's final two regular-season games with a shoulder injury, and head coach Ken Whisenhunt said the hamstring injury was likely the result of rust.
Boldin finished second on the team with 89 catches for 1,038 yards and 11 touchdowns, despite also missing two games earlier in the season with a concussion and facial fractures.
