Browns re-sign S Adams
Mar 6, 2009 - 8:06 PM BEREA, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Browns on Friday re-signed safety Mike Adams to a three-year contract.Financial terms were not disclosed.
Adams, who turns 28 later this month, recorded 44 tackles and two interceptions in 14 games last season. He is expected to compete for a starting position, especially if free agent Sean Jones signs elsewhere.
"Mike Adams possesses the characteristics we believe in and brings versatility to the back end of the defense," Browns general manager George Kokinis said in a statement. "We are pleased he is coming back to Cleveland."
An undrafted free agent out of Delaware, Adams has 224 tackles and seven interceptions in 67 games with San Francisco and Cleveland.
