Coyotes sign Aucoin to 1-year contract
Jul 2, 2009 - 7:42 PM GLENDALE, Ariz.(AP) -- Free agent defenseman Adrian Aucoin has signed a one-year contract with the Phoenix Coyotes, giving the team a veteran presence on and off the ice.Coyotes general manager Don Maloney called Aucoin an "an intelligent, puck-moving defenseman who will help improve our power play and bring leadership to our locker room."
The deal was announced Thursday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 35-year-old former All-Star had 10 goals and 24 assists in 81 games last season with the Calgary Flames.
He has 108 goals and 228 assists in 851 career NHL games with Vancouver, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Calgary and the New York Islanders.
