Blues sign defenseman Brendan Bell
Jul 31, 2009 - 4:40 PM ST. LOUIS(AP) -- The St. Louis Blues have signed defenseman Brendan Bell, who played with the Ottawa Senators last season.The deal was announced on Friday.
The 26-year-old played in 53 games for the Senators, getting six goals and 15 assists along with 24 penalty minutes.
He also played in 15 games with Ottawa's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.
In 101 NHL games, he has seven goals, 21 assists and 24 penalty minutes.
The Ottawa, Ontario, native was originally drafted by Toronto in the third round, 65th overall in the 2001 draft.
