Maple Leafs D White out with shoulder injury
Jan 11, 2007 - 1:15 AM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs will be short a dependable defenseman for a while.The Maple Leafs on Wednesday announced blue-liner Ian White will be sidelined three to four weeks with a separated shoulder.
White, who has played in all 44 games for Toronto this season, suffered the mild separation in the second period of Tuesday's 4-1 loss to Carolina.
A sixth-round pick in 2002, White has recorded two goals, 16 assists and a plus-3 rating, which is tied for sixth overall on the team and third among defensemen. The 22-year-old made his NHL debut last season, registering a tally and six points in 12 contests.
