Jackets, Flyers deal minor leaguers
Oct 20, 2009 - 7:45 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio(AP) -- The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded right wing Stefan Legein (LEE' juhn) to the Philadelphia Flyers for defenseman Michael Ratchuk.Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson announced the trade on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old Legein, a second-round pick in the 2007 draft, played briefly for Syracuse of the American Hockey League each of the last two seasons, sitting out much of last year after quitting the game. He returned to play in 26 games.
The 21-year-old Ratchuk, Philadelphia's third pick in the 2006 draft, has played in 85 games in the AHL. He was assigned by the Blue Jackets to Syracuse.
