Ducks reassign G Pogge, make way for Giguere
Nov 9, 2009 - 11:05 PM ANAHEIM, Calif.(AP) -- The Anaheim Ducks have reassigned goalie Justin Pogge to the minors, clearing the way for Jean-Sebastien Giguere's return.Giguere hasn't played since Oct. 24 while resting a groin injury. Before Giguere was hurt, the former playoff MVP was 0-2-1 with a 3.65 goals-against average while sharing starts with Jonas Hiller, who took the Ducks' starting job last season from Giguere, the topic of numerous trade rumors.
Pogge is headed back to Bakersfield of the ECHL. He didn't play for the Ducks during his latest stint in Anaheim, sitting for two weeks behind Hiller.
The last-place Ducks open a four-game East Coast road trip at New Jersey on Wednesday night.
