Nov 19, 2009 - 6:07 AM EDMONTON, Alberta(AP) -- Ryan Potulny and Patrick O'Sullivan scored third-period goals and the Edmonton Oilers overcame a two-goal deficit to beat the Colorado Avalanche 6-4 on Wednesday night.After Sam Gagner pulled the Oilers within one with 16 seconds left in the second period, Potulny tied it on a power play at 2:45 of the third. O'Sullivan gave Edmonton a 5-4 lead with 8:53 remaining, and Alex Hemsky added an empty-net goal.
Shawn Horcoff and Gilbert Brule also scored for Edmonton. The Oilers (9-10-3) ended a four-game losing streak with their third victory in their last 13 games.
Milan Hejduk scored twice for Colorado, and David Jones and Kyle Cumiskey added goals. The Avalanche have lost four of their last five games to drop to 13-6-3.
Panthers 6, Sabres 2=
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Michael Frolik scored twice, Dominic Moore and Rostislav Olesz had a goal and an assist each, and Tomas Vokoun made 26 saves for Florida.
Stephen Weiss and Cory Stillman also scored for the Panthers (8-9-2), who have turned things around after a 2-7-1 start. Florida, which beat Buffalo for the first time in five games, is 6-2-1 in its last eight games.
Drew Stafford and Clarke MacArthur scored, and Ryan Miller made 18 saves for Buffalo. The loss ended the Sabres' winning streak at three.
Flyers 3, Kings 2=
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Mika Pyorala scored his first NHL goal, backup goalie Brian Boucher made 37 saves and Philadelphia opened a five-game trip with its seventh victory in eight games.
Mike Richards and James van Riemsdyk also scored, and Braydon Coburn had two assists for the Flyers. Jarrett Stoll had a goal and an assist, and Jonathan Quick stopped 17 shots for Los Angeles.
Coyotes 3, Wild 2=
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Scotty Upshall scored the winner with 4:39 to play, Radim Vrbata had a goal and an assist, and Ilya Bryzgalov made 24 saves for Phoenix.
The Wild's Antti Miettinen tied it at 2 with 4:58 to play, but Phoenix countered 19 seconds later, with Upshall blasting in the rebound of Keith Yandle's shot. James Vandermeer also scored for Phoenix. Andrew Brunette added a goal for the Wild.
Stars 3, Red Wings 1=
DETROIT (AP) - Alex Auld made 31 saves, and Mike Ribeiro, Matt Niskanen and Loui Eriksson scored, and Brad Richards and James Neal each had two assists for Dallas.
Henrik Zetterberg scored for Detroit, and Jimmy Howard stopped 29 shots. The loss snapped the Red Wings' winning streak at three.
