Stars place C Ott on IR, recall C Lundqvist
Feb 1, 2007 - 5:30 PM SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- The Dallas Stars on Thursday placed center Steve Ott on injured reserve with an ankle ailment.It marks the second time this season Ott has been sidelined with ankle problems. The 24-year-old center suffered a fractured ankle October 28 and missed 36 games before being activated from IR on January 18.
The 25th overall draft selection in 2000, Ott has four assists in 13 games this season. In parts of four seasons with Dallas, he has 10 goals and 35 assists in 194 career games.
To fill Ott's spot on the roster, the Stars on Thursday recalled center Joel Lundqvist from Iowa of the American Hockey League.
The twin brother of New York Rangers star goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, Joel Lundqvist has one tally in nine games with Dallas this season.
