Capitals re-sign LW Brashear to one-year contract
Feb 12, 2007 - 5:52 PM WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Washington Capitals will have the toughness of Donald Brashear for at least another season.The Capitals on Monday re-signed the veteran tough guy to a one-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
A rugged left wing who never has registered more than 28 points in a season in a career that started in 1993-94, Brashear is in his first season with the Capitals. He has collected two goals, seven points and 125 penalty minutes in 52 games.
Brashear, 35, also has played with Montreal, Vancouver and Philadelphia in his career. He has registered 77 goals, 186 points and 2,290 penalty minutes in 821 career games.
