Kings reassign G Bernier to minors
Mar 14, 2010 - 8:11 PM LOS ANGELES(AP) -- The Los Angeles Kings have reassigned goalie Jonathan Bernier to their AHL affiliate after the 21-year-old prospect impressively won a fill-in start in Dallas.The Kings announced the move during Sunday's game against the Nashville Predators.
Los Angeles recalled Bernier from Manchester last Thursday when NHL victories leader Jonathan Quick left the Kings to attend the birth of his first child.
Bernier excelled in his first NHL appearance of the season and just the fifth of his career, making 29 saves and stopping all six shootout attempts in the Kings' 2-1 win at Dallas on Friday.
Quick was back in the Kings' net against Nashville, with Erik Ersberg backing him up.
