Ducks sign LW Moen, RW Parros to two-year extensions

Jun 12, 2007 - 5:22 PM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- The Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday re-signed left wing Travis Moen and right wing George Parros to two-year contract extensions.

The club did not disclose financial terms for either deal. Both players were set to become free agents on July 1.

Moen, 25, appeared in all 82 of the Ducks' regular-season games this past campaign, collecting 11 goals and 10 assists with 101 penalty minutes - the third-highest total on the team.

The 6-2 Saskatchewan native emerged as a postseason hero over the last two months, scoring seven goals and 12 points in Anaheim's 21 postseason contests. He netted three game-winning tallies, including the clincher in Anaheim's 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Moen also scored a pair of goals - including the winner - in the Ducks' series-clinching 6-2 triumph Wednesday.

A fifth-round draft selection of the Calgary Flames in 2000, Moen has 19 goals, 13 assists and 315 penalty minutes in 203 career games over parts of three seasons with Anaheim and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Parros, 27, was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche on November 13 and appeared in 32 regular-season contests with the Ducks, registering one goal and 102 penalty minutes.

The 6-5, 232-pound Parros has three tallies and three assists with 240 penalty minutes in 89 career games with Anaheim, Colorado and the Los Angeles Kings.
