Flames sign LW Moss

Jun 20, 2007 - 10:55 PM CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- David Moss' rookie season apparently impressed the Calgary Flames.

After making a splash in his first NHL season in 2006-07, Moss was re-signed by the Flames on Wednesday. Terms were not disclosed.

A seventh-round pick in 2001, Moss spent four seasons at the University of Michigan before joining Calgary's American Hockey League affiliate in Omaha in 2005-06, when he registered 21 goals and 27 assists in 63 games. He began this past campaign with the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, notching nine tallies and 21 points in 28 contests before being recalled by the Flames.

The 25-year-old Michigan native began his stint with Calgary in good fashion, scoring the winning goal in his first game against Los Angeles on December 19 and adding a tally in each of the next two contests.

Moss finished with 10 goals and 18 points in 41 regular-season games and added an assist in six postseason contests.
