Flames sign veteran RW Nolan to one-year contract
Jul 3, 2007 - 5:16 PM CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- The Calgary Flames added a veteran presence Tuesday, signing right wing Owen Nolan to a one-year contract.Financial terms were not disclosed, but TSN of Canada reported the deal could be worth up to $2 million.
TSN also reported that the Flames have agreed to terms with defenseman Robyn Regehr on a five-year contract extension worth up to $20 million.
Nolan, 35, joins the Flames after appearing in 76 games for the Phoenix Coyotes last season. He registered 16 goals and 24 assists in 76 games.
A 15-year veteran who was drafted fist overall by the Quebec Nordiques in 1990, Nolan has amassed 365 goals, 410 assists and 1,656 penalty minutes in 991 career games. He is joining his fourth team.
Regehr, 27, has been a fixture on the Calgary blue line for each of his seven seasons. The 1998 first-round pick notched two goals and 21 points to go along with a plus-27 rating in 78 games last season.
