Blue Jackets ink Calvert to 2-year extension
Apr 23, 2013 - 2:15 PM Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets signed forward Matt Calvert to a two-year contract extension on Tuesday.The 23-year-old Calvert, who is day-to-day with a broken finger, has registered nine goals and seven assists in 42 games this season.
"Matt is a dynamic young winger that plays with great tenacity at both ends of the ice and we look forward to his continued development and contributions to our hockey club," said Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen.
Selected by Columbus in the fifth round of the 2008 draft, Calvert has compiled 20 goals and 39 points in 97 career games.
