Habs' Price to miss remainder of first-round series
May 9, 2013 - 3:15 PM Montreal, QC (Sports Network) - Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price will miss the remainder of the first-round playoff series against Ottawa because of a lower body injury.The Canadiens made the announcement Thursday morning, leaving Peter Budaj as the starting netminder. It could last just one game, as Montreal heads into Thursday facing elimination at home in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the Senators.
Price was hurt in the closing seconds of regulation on Tuesday in Game 4 of the series. He went into a butterfly, then reached to stop a high shot and was slow to get up.
Budaj replaced Price to start overtime and surrendered the winning goal early in the extra session, as Ottawa opened a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Price had a 3.26 goals-against average and an .894 save percentage in the first four games of the series.
