Sharks F Burish out for second round
May 9, 2013 - 9:26 PM San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks will not have the services of forward Adam Burish for the second round of the playoffs. The Mercury-News reported on Thursday that the 30-year-old suffered an undisclosed upper-body injury during the recently-completed first-round series with the Vancouver Canucks.
Burish was on the receiving end of a slash from Canucks defenseman Alex Edler late in the second period of Tuesday's clinching Game 4 on home ice, and did not return to what eventually was a 4-3 overtime victory. He did not record a point in the four-game sweep.
In addition, the paper reported that forward Martin Havlat, who has not played since Game 1 of the set, skated on his own for the first time since suffering an undisclosed ailment, but did not provide any timetable for a return to action.
