Bruins agree to terms with D Wideman
Jul 11, 2007 - 11:57 PM BOSTON (Ticker) -- The Boston Bruins have one less restricted free agent Wednesday after agreeing to terms with defenseman Dennis Wideman on a new contract.Terms were not disclosed.
An eighth-round pick of Buffalo in 2002, Wideman was acquired from St. Louis at the trade deadline on February 27 and recorded one goal and two assists in 20 games with Boston. Prior to the deal, the 24-year-old notched five tallies and 22 points in 55 contests with the Blues.
A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Wideman made his NHL debut in 2005-06, registering eight goals and 16 assists in 67 games with St. Louis.
Boston's lone remaining restricted free agent is goaltender Jordan Sigalet, who spent last season with Providence of the American Hockey League.
