Ducks' Beauchemin has knee surgery
May 20, 2013 - 10:01 PM Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Anaheim Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin has undergone reconstructive surgery to repair the ACL in his right knee.The team announced that Beauchemin, who underwent the procedure last Thursday, is expected to return in time for the start of the 2013-14 season.
Beauchemin led all Ducks defensemen in assists (18) and points (24) while playing all 48 games during the shortened season. He added two goals and four helpers in seven playoff games against the Detroit Red Wings, who eliminated the Pacific Division champs in the first round.
